Privacy Policy for Seerah

This Privacy Policy explains how the Seerah app (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) handles information when you use it. We built Seerah with privacy as a core principle: we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

1. Information We Collect

None. The Seerah app does not collect any personal information from you. We have no user accounts, no sign-in, no email collection, and no profile creation.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The app saves the following only on your own device so it can provide its core features. This data is never transmitted to us or any third party:

Reading progress — which lessons you have completed
Bookmarks — lessons you have marked as favorites
Daily lesson streak — the date of your last completed lesson and your streak count
Theme preference — whether you have selected light, dark, or system theme
Last-read position — the last lesson you were reading, so you can continue where you left off

All of this is stored using Android’s standard SharedPreferences and stays on your device. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted.

3. Network Usage

The Seerah app is completely offline. It does not make any network requests. All content — lessons, images, audio, timelines, and references — ships with the app itself. The app does not require an internet connection to function.

4. Third-Party Services

The Seerah app does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. Specifically:

No Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or similar tracking
No advertising SDKs (AdMob, etc.)
No crash reporting (Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.)
No social media SDKs

5. Permissions

The app requests one permission:

Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — used only to send you a daily lesson reminder at a time you choose. Notifications are generated locally on your device and do not involve any server.

You can disable notifications at any time from your device’s app settings.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Seerah app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Because we do not collect any data, there is nothing for us to share with anyone.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this policy, the new version will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
